My whole world changed for the better when our sweet Kate was born on January 28th, and she has truly been such a ray of sunshine for us. This is by far the greatest job I have ever had, and my life is so much brighter with her in it.
Since the moment I found out I was pregnant, I began turning to my mom, dad, sister, hubby, and friends for support and advice, and I don't know what I would do without them. As a first-time mom, I was clueless about everything...I have learned so much about motherhood, birth, babies, etc. from my friends and family, and I value their support more than they will ever know.
As a mom, every day is a new experience, and I'm constantly learning new things about my little girl and tricks of the mommy trade. I would love to be a source of support and advice for fellow moms and moms-to-be, so I decided I would start my own little "Mommy Must-Haves" series on my blog.
I've already learned so much throughout Kate's 4 months of life, and each Monday, I'll post the tried and true products and tips that have worked in our household. My hope is they'll work in yours too! :)
The first installment of my Mommy Must-Haves series is actually for the mommy-to-be...
One of the tasks that was somewhat daunting to me in preparation for our baby was packing our hospital bag. For some reason, I just couldn't decide on the necessities that we needed to pack, and my bag sat empty in our guest bedroom for weeks.
I turned to one of my sweet friends, Christina, whose baby was due two months before mine, and she totally saved me. I'm so thankful I had the pleasure of being pregnant at the same time she was because she was so supportive, and I feel like we will always share a special "pregnancy" bond. Not only did Christina walk me through her tips to packing the perfect bag, but she designed a wonderful checklist tailored just for our family. It served as the perfect guide for me, and now it holds a special place in our scrapbook.
Below you will find a sample of that checklist, and please feel free to use it as a guide when prepping for your baby's arrival.
xoxo,
Katherine

Keep them coming! I need all the help/advise I can get. :)
We learned a hard lesson with our second one....put Dad's bag with Mom's! My water broke while Josh was at work and my mom came and drove me to the hospital. In all the craziness we didn't grab Josh's bag. Poor thing spent the whole 14 hour delivery in his military uniform. Although, I didn't feel THAT bad for him ;-)
Super glad you posted this! I've been having a hard time with what to take my the hospital bag :)
