{Tips to Try: Clean Microwave & Organized Mail}

June 05, 2013

I'm always on the hunt for helpful cleaning tips, and I've come across quite a few fun tricks throughout the past several months.  I'm all for simplifying my cleaning and organizing routine, and these two tips have definitely come in handy for me.

I always dread scrubbing the food grit and grime out of our appliances, but luckily, I've found a fabulous new way to clean our microwave...It's simple, quick, and it leaves the kitchen smelling so fresh and sweet.

Here's what you do...
Mix 2 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a microwave-safe container.  Zap it on high for 5 minutes.  Carefully remove the container, and wipe off the interior of your microwave with a cloth.  Voila!! All that grit and grime should wipe right off! :)

This next tip killed two birds with one stone for me. 1) It's a nice solution to organizing the stacks of mail that pile up on the counter. 2) It puts all those napkin holders to good use that we got as wedding gifts many years ago.  They've been sitting in a kitchen cabinet, and now I can use them for this...
{real simple}
Use napkin holders to organize mail/bills in the order that they need to be paid.  Stick it on your kitchen countertop or office desk for easy access.
